She's not a Mercedes. She's a train.

My history as a writer and editor began in the publishing office at Gulf Coast Business Journal in 1989, shortly before computers hit the workspace. I learned how to operate an IBM compatible and type while feeding a baby, and the rest is history. I won 13 Colorado Press Association awards in 1995, including the Shining Star Award for that year.

My strengths reside in my willingness to meet deadlines, my ability to refrain from whining, and a sincere desire to fondle words.

Currently, I'm working on a memoir about caregiving my mother, who died from a rare cancer in 2014. I'm rewriting what I've written to include the sudden death of my husband in 2015 and my father's recent death.
