With a commitment to excellence and professionalism that spans decades, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance has established itself as one of the leading institutions of dance education in Ottawa. Founded more than 30 years ago, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance instructs young dancers aged 3 to 19 in the genres of Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. Dedicated to assisting each student in achieving his or her personal best, the school offers an array of programs for aspiring dance professionals as well as recreational dancers.

The Linda Jamieson School of Dance is presided over by Director and Choreographer Linda Jamieson, B.A., BCE., who brings to the school extensive experience as a highly trained teacher, respected choreographer, and former competitive and professional dancer. She holds a Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Teaching Certificate and has trained with Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the acclaimed RAD teacher and examiner Ellen Andrews, and the Broadway choreographers Karin Baker, Peter Gennaro, and Liza Gennaro-Evans. Before coming to the Linda Jamieson School of Dance, Ms. Jamieson gained international recognition as the choreographer of Peace Child, a musical backed by the Canadian Institute for Conflict Resolution. As a dancer, she won championships in Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States and garnered more than 800 trophies and medals, including 2 gold medals at the world championships in Scotland. The highlights of her career as a professional dancer include many performances aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and appearances at the O’Keefe Centre (known today as the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts) and the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. She brings all of this experience to her leadership role with the Linda Jamieson School of Dance.
