Why do we have 2 ears and only 1mouth?

Have you ever thought about that?

Because it would look silly if it were the other way around? In order to be able to keep your balance? Or because this way it's easier for you to let someone else's moaning go in one ear, and out the other? Or maybe so you can have a conversation with yourself? For that matter, you can do that with just one mouth too!

So why do we? Perhaps so we can listen twice as much as we speak. Listening is one of the most important skills in life. If you know how to be a good listener, the other person is able to relate their story, and they feel heard, understood and relieved.

In general, do you really listen to your conversation partner? And listening, how do you do it EXACTLY?

And when you're the one who's saying something.. how can you express exactly what you mean, without being misunderstood?
