Linda Magee has more than three decades of experience in financial management, fundraising, artistic planning and organizational development. Until January 2013 she was the executive director of Chamber Music Northwest, a highly respected summer festival in Portland, Oregon.

During her 33-year tenure at CMNW, Ms. Magee helped build an organization that achieved a rare balance of artistic excellence and fiscal stability. While steadily growing the institution, expanding programs and enlarging audiences, she managed it with a balanced budget for 33 consecutive years. She also directed three capital campaigns for CMNW, to create an endowment fund currently valued at more than $4 million.

Ms. Magee has served on the board of Chamber Music America and on grant panels for the National Endowment for the Arts. She is a co-founder of Classical Music Festivals of the West, a cooperative group of executive directors in seven western states.

She has been a grants review panelist numerous times for the Regional Arts & Culture Council of Portland and the Oregon Arts Commission. Ms. Magee is a member of the Willamette Valley Development Officers (WVDO), and served on its board and program committee. She earned credentials as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) for two certification rounds.

In 2011, Ms. Magee was honored by the Portland Center for the Performing Arts with a concrete star on Broadway in the “Portland Walk of Stars,” an award given to individuals who've made lasting impact on the arts community. She was chosen by WVDO to receive the 2010 Barbara Stallcup Miller Career Achievement Award, and in 2002 Marylhurst University honored her with their first “Woman of Distinction in the Arts” award.

A classically trained violinist, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Indiana University, and also attended Oberlin College. Ms. Magee was a member of the board of directors of the Northwest Earth Institute for 15 years, including three years as board treasurer. She currently plays violin and viola informally in an ensemble known as The Rusties.
