Linda is a Cuban- American journalist from Miami, Florida. To learn about how her passion for journalism began, you must first be brought to her childhood home in where her grandparents; Josefina and Lucio Viquillon raised her.

Linda's grandfather was an illiterate man who did not even attend high school, and her grandmother, Josefina whom later went on to become the love of his life, was the one who taught him how to read and write. Although neither one of Linda's grandparents obtained a higher education, they always maintained informed about what was going on around the world, with the news playing at their house all day long.

Linda as a child grew up imitating all the news anchors and reporters she saw on television, and her grandmother would tell her "one day you will be on that screen." When Linda's grandfather passed away her senior year in High School, she started a project called "Voices of Miami" in which she went around the entire city interviewing people and telling their stories. Linda's inspiration? Her grandmother who sat next to her telling her the stories of how her grandparents had met and how life felt after losing the only person you've ever loved.

As a sophomore in college Linda was able to intern at South Florida's local NBC station NBC6. Here, she worked under the mentorship of the stations evening anchor Jawan Strader. She worked in the stations assignment desk, alongside producers and with reporters, covering local breaking news.

What drives her in the field now? The need to actually tell people's stories. Linda believes that in a day and age where so many tragedies happen and breaking news happens so fast, reporters often forget to really incorporate the essence of not just informing the public- but of making their voices heard.

At the moment, Linda attends Florida International University where she majors in Broadcast Journalism with a concentration in Political Science.
