James Linderman

James Linderman lives and works at jameslinderman music lesson studio, a music lesson, songwriting, composing, and recording pre production facility in Newmarket, Ontario. He teaches guitar, piano and theory as well as contemporary songwriting and composition, in studio, as well as over Skype to students all over the world.In 2006 James was selected for a 21 member, international, off campus, academic advisory board for The Berklee School of Music known as Berkleemusic Ambassadors focusing on adapting Berklee campus courses for online learning and representing and promoting Berklee at music events and conferences to the present. In 2007 James was also named Berkleemusic's Worship Music Adviser in 2007. In the past 11 years he has audited courses at Berklee in composition, film music, songwriting (lyric and music sub dept,), arranging, performance and production.For 3 years James was the co-moderator of the CCM Club at SongU, a Nashville based songwriting resource and was a patron and contributor to the James Linderman Wing of their academic resource library.James has been a freelance lead guitarist for TACF, Tehillah Toronto Worshop Team, Missionfest, GOHOP and DHOP. He was the worship team electric lead guitarist for the Global Day of Prayer celebration at The Air Canada Centre in Toronto in 2006.James cowrote a song in 2004 that was on hold for Bonnie Raitt called Completely Yours, and cowrote Lead Me There for Stephanie Israelson which received airplay in the UK and the US and on Canadian Christian radio, ranked in the top 50 songs for overall airplay in 2006 and stayed in the top 10 through most of 2007. James wrote Life is Made for This for recording artist Andy Taylor which charted consistently across Canada in the top 10 through 2007 and 2008. In 2010 he wrote the single "I Run to You" for Miranda Fox.For the last 10 year James has begun to consider teaching and lecturing to be his main art form. He is a featured guest presenter at The Power Up Gospel Music Conference at York University in Toronto (10 years to present), The Producers Conference (1 Year), The Humber College Summer Songwriting Workshop (4 Years) , The Break Out West Music Conference (1 Year), Songstudio (5 Years to present), Newmarket High School (3 years) and the Canada Film Centre’s Slaight Music Residency (3 years to present) as the principle film composition and songwriting mentor.
