I guess I'm what you would call an avid amateur photographer, having enjoyed the pasttime since the '80s.

My favourite type of photography is architecture, with details of anything coming in second place. My least successful field is landscape, at least in the digital world. When I owned an SLR - back in "the day"! - my landscapes were much better.

Nowadays, my cameras consist of a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 and my handy-dandy take-everywhere pocket Panasonic Lumix FH1. Photoshop Elements 10 is my passion and I gave lessons in using Elements for a few years. Also in my bag of digital goodies is Topaz Adjust 5, OnOne Effects and Perfect Effects.

I work best when given a goal, target, theme - call it what you will. That's why I like the fact that the Photoshop Elements Techniques magazine's site http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/ has its own Forum where they post a year-long themed photo thread, the reason for this blog. I believe that the Forum is only available to subscribers to the magazine but I heartily recommend it for all its many aspects.

I hope you enjoy the work you see me post here over the coming year and please feel free to offer critique, opinions or just a line about my images.
