Where to begin?
I am a self-proclaimed world explorer with an addiction to exotic, remote jungles. I have been to fifteen countries and tend to frequent those in Asia, their culture is unbelievably beautiful to me. In 2012, I embarked on a trip to Nepal where I spent three weeks trekking in the Himalayas to Mount Everest Basecamp. This was a mind blowing adventure! I was able to learn so much about Nepalese culture and see the hard working Sherpa people first hand. I also learned a lot about myself and truly got to push my body to its limits.
I currently work as an Executive Assistant with Environmental Compliance Incorporated. It is a company that focuses on finding alternative methods of energy and reducing the carbon footprint in Alberta.
In my free time, I love to read books on true events. I am also teaching myself how to speak Thai and am planning on attending a language school in Thailand to further my fluency. I am a retired Ukrainian Dancer of the Cheremosh Ukrainian Dance Company based out of Edmonton. I danced for a total of 17 years and although I am retired, I still maintain my contact with the group by volunteering at events. Ukrainian dance is about more than just the preformances. The community provides you the ability to travel both locally and internationally, it provides large networks of professionals, and offers opportunities to volunteer for a variety of events. But most of all, it creates bonds between individuals that last a lifetime.
My driving force in life is to cross as many things off my bucket list as I can and meet inspirational people along the way. I love learning about other cultures and I strive to never be a tourist but to be a student who is getting hands on experience by learning local language, eating and cooking local food and practicing local tradition.
My hope for my future is to continue to travel but to give back more to the community. I would love to volunteer in more orphanages or assist in animal rescue camps.
