Lindsey is a senior at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where she will graduate with her BA in English in May 2015. She is the recipient of multiple scholarships and the co-captain of the Mercer Debate Society, where she is in her fourth year of NPDA-style debate. She has been heavily involved in the Macon community through her volunteer service with the Big Brothers, Big Sisters of the Heart of Middle Georgia, the Sex Trafficking Opposition Project, the Motivating Youth Foundation, and the Alzheimer's Association.
Lindsey has been the debate coach at Tiftarea Academy in Chula, Georgia since October 2013, where her team focuses on public forum debate and speech events. Her students have experienced huge varsity success, breaking into semifinal and final rounds at many regional tournaments, including Carson-Newman University's Smoky Mountain Invitational and the University of Georgia Bulldog Debates. Her students are also the recipients of multiple speaking awards.
Lindsey is also the Public Forum Debate Director at the Samford Debate Institute. In this capacity, she has designed her own debate curriculum for the week-long camp. Her summer students have gone on to win multiple state and regional titles and have made strong appearances in national tournaments.
She is a member of the National Speech and Debate Association, the Georgia Forensic Coaches Association, Delta Sigma Rho-Tau Kappa Alpha, Phi Alpha Theta, Sigma Tau Delta, and Omicron Delta Kappa.
After graduating from Mercer, she hopes to get into the classroom as soon as possible as a teacher, while continuing her debate coaching career.
In her free time, she loves writing creative fiction, reading, shopping, cooking delicious vegetarian meals, travelling and spoiling her cat, Juno.
