Lindsey Mastis is an Emmy Award winning News Anchor in Washington, DC.
Lindsey's passion is helping people with technology by exposing scams and revealing dangerous cybersecurity threats. She hosts a daily Tech Desk, and brings viewers behind the scenes during newscasts, and on Capitol Hill through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Periscope, and Snapchat.
On Capitol Hill, Lindsey had front row seats during the final confirmation vote for one of the most controversial Supreme Court nominees in history, covered the historic House hearing involving Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and witnessed a couple of government shutdowns.
Lindsey traveled across the country to cover some of the most historic moments in modern US history. She spent nearly a week in Orlando covering the Pulse Nightclub shooting. She delivered breaking news from Watertown that authorities had captured the Boston Marathon Bomber, and conducted an exclusive hospital interview with one of the victims. She was in West, Texas, covering the deadly fertilizer explosion, covered the Isla Vista massacre near the University of California, Santa Barbara, and was in Aurora, Colorado, covering the mass shooting at a movie theater.
She covered the first inaugurations of Presidents Donald Trump and Barack Obama. She also covered Obama's re-election in 2012 from the swing state of Ohio.
Internationally, Lindsey traveled throughout India and created a documentary about child mortality with the International Reporting Project, taught TV journalism and social media to journalists in Erbil (the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan), and reported on medical tourism in Mexico.
Mastis previously worked at WFLA-TV in Tampa, Florida, Feature Story News service in Los Angeles, WUSA-TV in Washington, DC, and WSIL-TV in Southern Illinois.
Lindsey graduated from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, with a Bachelor of Science in News-Editorial Journalism, and a minor in Administration of Justice.
She often volunteers and emcees events in the Washington, DC, area, including organizations to benefit the Special Olympics and Autism Speaks.
In her free time she writes music, plays vinyl records, goes running, and is learning Spanish.
