Six strings. Although they don't completely define me, I am able to define myself within them. Each string holds a different meaning, a different note, a different frequency, a different story. When these pieces join as one, they are able to create a combination of notes, developing a chord. Life is like a chord. A chord made up of past, present, and future. Each string, a different moment of my life. Music is a major part of my life, I wish I could take my guitar everywhere, as it is one of my favorite things. Not everyone dreams of a guitar for their sixteenth birthday, but for me, that was all I had hoped for. Getting my guitar was a turning point in my life. A transition. The way I knew I was growing up. Often, I feel as if music describes me well. It is simple, but complicated. Playing the guitar is a de-stressor for me, a good way to unwind after a long day. Nothing is better than having great laughs with friends while jamming in a circle, an instrument in everyone's hand. Whether its playing my favorite James Bay song or practicing playing music for church, nothing brings more joy than simply playing a great rhythm.
