Lindsey Smith

Hello! My name is Lindsey Smith and I teach 8th grade English and Language Arts as well as English I at Carolina Springs Middle School. I am also the ELA department chair at CSMS. This is my second year teaching 8th grade. Prior to my current position, I taught high school English (9th and 12AP) in Knoxville, TN for 11 years. I have 13 years of teaching experience.
I am from Johnson City, TN and went to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where I earned a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Secondary Education. I also have a Master's of Science in English Education from UT. My favorite part of teaching is sharing my passion of language and literature while inspiring students to discover this love as well.
When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy cooking, reading, and exercising. I am a devoted Tennessee Vols fan! My husband and I spend a lot of time playing with (and spoiling) our rambunctious labradoodle, Shooter.
