I'm an artist, a Texas landscape painter living the good life in the high desert mountains of Far West Texas with my husband, dog and parrot.
I've always been an artist. I love to share my vision of the world with viewers and collectors. I show in galleries and a few museum invitational art exhibits. I'm one of 36 artists chosen for publication in TEXAS TRADITIONS, CONTEMPORARY ARTISTS OF THE LONE STAR STATE; that's quite an honor for someone who lives on a remote mountain ranch, doesn't enter art competitions and has little formal art training. I'm privileged to spend most days doing what I'm meant to do ( painting rather than housekeeping!)
I blog about my art adventures and the places I paint at Big Bend Artist Blog, Wanderings of An Artist in Far West Texas. http://BigBendArtistBlog.com
Since sharing is the right thing to do, I also blog for fellow artists. Technique tips, marketing ideas and pastel painting information can be gleaned at my other blog, Outlaw Pastelist, On Coloring Outside the Lines http://OutlawPastelist.wordpress.com
Once upon a time, I was a practicing aviatrix; I've since folded up my wings. (Someone recently told me the best pilots plan their last flight!) Been there, loved it, walked away. Now, I paint those skies. See my paintings on my website OldSpanishTrailStudio.com
Fort Davis is our home base. A shelter dog and a rescued parrot go everywhere with us. We don't plan to send them to college. Neither are allowed their own Facebook account, either. Next thing, they'd want their own laptops to blog about life with us.
