Lindy J Martinez Stice
Artist, Educator, and Tattooer
Lindy Martinez Stice was born in Oroville, California in 1979. She divides her time between Oxnard, CA and the South Pacific island nations of Tonga, Fiji, and Vanuatu. The artist’s nomadic lifestyle features strongly in her artwork. Stice creates paintings and drawings that illuminate loss and longing, and the tensions inherent in a life lived between cultures and locations. Lindy Martinez Stice obtained her BA in Art from Westmont College in 2000, and her M.Ed from American College of Education in 2022. She is a seasoned art educator with 15 years of experience, and is currently completing an MFA in Visual Arts at Azusa Pacific University. Stice expanded her artistic practice by learning the art of tattooing in Tonga, and is the owner of Ink Sanctuary Tattoo Studio in Port Vila, Vanuatu.
