Lionel Kambeitz
Entrepreneur and International Business Developer in Regina, Saskatchewan
Lionel Kambeitz is an accomplished Canadian entrepreneur and international business developer. He has accrued over three decades of experience in key business sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, environmental services, food services, solar power, and property development, with a cross-sectional focus on sustainability.
Lionel has led multiple private companies in both the US and Canada and several public companies in Canada. Currently, he serves as Executive Chairman for eight major firms, including his most recent endeavor at Above Food Corp. The plant-based protein company that provides a “seed-to-fork” supply chain.
Lionel aims to create food products that are better for the environment and better for people, which led him to co-found Above Food Corp., where he is also CEO. He and his three co-founders created Above Food as a vertically integrated company that allows consumers to understand their food’s journey “from seed-to-fork.” He believes in Above Food’s philosophy: “Born on the Land and Not in a Lab.”
His passion for food began when he was growing up around the agricultural industry, which has been his family’s business since 1899. Lionel’s goal is to provide the highest-quality ingredients to global consumers, creating products that are healthy and grown and produced with sustainable practices.
Lionel founded and serves as chairman for Delta CleanTech Inc., a global technology leader in CO2 capture and identity-preserved waste solutions. Delta provides critical industry solutions to clients worldwide in capturing, sequestering, and reducing carbon dioxide (CO2), while originating and streaming quality fungible carbon credits, a tradable environmental commodity that represents the reduction of one metric ton of CO2, or CO2 equivalents. Lionel hopes his efforts at Delta help address the environmental, social, and governance (ESG) needs of businesses.
Lionel Kambeitz has founded and led numerous other companies, such as the KF Group of Companies, KF Kambeitz Farms Inc., Kambeitz Agri Inc., KF Aggregates Recycling Inc., KF Solar Electric, KF Homestead Properties Inc., KF Rail Ports Corp, and KF Capital Markets, among other startups throughout his career.
Outside of his entrepreneurship endeavors, Lionel Kambeitz spends time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He likes to take them to the fields of his over 60,000-acre, fifth-generation family farm that dates back to the 19th century, located outside of Regina, Saskatchewan.
