The ninth in a family raised in Northern Saskatchewan, he attended school in Meadow Lake Saskatchewan, gained a B.A. degree from the University of Saskatchewan, a teaching certificate from the Normal School in Saskatoon, and, a Ll. B. from the University of Alberta, Edmonton.
He taught school in Grande Prairie, Alberta and Red Deer, Alberta. He practised law in Red Deer, dealt with lawsuits reaching the Supreme Court of Canada. Tiring of the practise of law, he entered the financial advisor field.
Life experiences brought him to this moment of retirement when he discovered he wanted to experience the lives of his ancestors. Researching the conditons of those days, be became interested in implanting interesting novels in various periods of time.
