Lionel James Casey
Active in his local community, Lionel James Casey belongs to Young Professionals for Covenant House, an organization that joins business leaders throughout Florida through a variety of networking and sporting events that earn money for Covenant House. In the past two decades, Lionel James Casey and other organization members have raised nearly $2 million to help the youth who seek refuge at Covenant House. All proceeds donated to the organization go directly to funding programs for young individuals struggling with homelessness and other at-risk youth populations. In addition, he belongs to Fort Lauderdale Bus Loop Charities, which works with a wide range of philanthropic organizations, including the Jessica June Children's Cancer Foundation, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Jack and Jill Children's Center, The Caridad Center, and the Delray Beach Public Library, among others. Mr. Casey also dedicates a large portion of his free time to Riverwalk Trust, which works to improve the greater Riverwalk Park area and connect Fort Lauderdale citizens and visitors more closely to the beauty of New River. The organization produces a magazine to promote Riverwalk Park and pursues a range of initiatives for expanding park programming and securing funding for capital improvements.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Lionel James Casey remains involved with the institution through an affiliate of its Alumni Association, the Broward County Gator Club. This organization undertakes number of different charitable activities in the community and responds to the changing needs of individuals in Broward County. In addition, the organization provides scholarships to select Broward County students in their freshman year at the University of Florida.
When not working to improve his community, Lionel James Casey enjoys traveling, fishing, and boating.
