Leader in successful treatment
Over the last several years, Dr. Long has served in leadership roles, providing clinical supervision to students, interns and colleagues, and acted as the head of a multi-disciplinary treatment team. With both inpatient and outpatient treatments, she puts an emphasis on ensuring that her patients can successfully integrate themselves back into the community after treatment. Fighting for justice
Having spent time working with mentally ill individuals in the justice system, Dr. Long sees it as her responsibility to advocate for mental health issues within the community. She knows how important it is to increase awareness and reduce the stigma that is attached to mental illness. It is this philosophy that led her to serve as a liaison within the courts, providing her expert testimony on whether individuals were competent to stand trial or should be held criminally responsible, as well as on inpatient civil commitment.
