Lisa Toppari

My name is Lisa Toppari, from Ontario, and I am aphotographer and videographer, who currently studies photography and video atDurham College. Some experience I have gained, is working on a promotionalvideo for the Durham Continuing Education, to help advertise the program. I alsoworked as a portrait photographer. As a kid, I always found myself onlyinterested in a camera, it was the only thing I was good at, and so I decidedto peruse a career in this field of study. The lens and all the differentcamera angles I could create fascinated me. I like to work hard to develop artthat speaks both to others and myself about inspiring subjects. I try toemphasize the beauty of what we see in our daily lives, by capturing thosemoments into still photographs. Some people ask, Why photography? Photographingpeople and capturing their expressions into little moments they can keep, iswhat I love about it and keeps my passion for it strong. I prefer portraitphotography, and also shooting film as well as editing. I would describe my photos as honest, excitingas well as inspiring. It brings me joy to explore my creativity whiledocumenting significant moments in people’s lives.
