Lisa Marie Basile

Lisa Marie Basile is a NYC-based writer. She edits a micropress, Patasola Press, an online magazine, Luna Luna Mag, and helps curate Diorama (a new series focused on movement, sound and poetry). She is the NY Editor for The Doctor T. J. Eckleburg Review, an online and print literary and arts journal housed at The Johns Hopkins University, M. A. in Writing Program, where she teaches online writing workshops.

Her poetry and other works can be seen in Best American Poetry, Coldfront, Tin House, Poets & Artists Magazine, PANK, The Nervous Breakdown, Huffington Post and other publications.

She is the author of three chapbooks and a full-length collection of poetry, APOCRYPHAL, which was listed as a Top 10 Bestseller in poetry on Amazon.com.

In 2013, she was visiting poet at Westfield High School in NJ and in 2014, she was a guest speaker at Emeron College in Boston, MA. She has also read and spoke at NYU and Brooklyn Brainery.

She was the February 2014 feature poet for Poets & Artists Magazine, and has been named a top contemporary NYC poet to watch in features by The New York Daily News & Relapse Magazine.

Lisa Marie is a graduate of The New School’s MFA program for creative writing. She studied English and journalism at Pace University, and went on to receive an editing certificate from The Columbia University Bloomberg Editors’ workshop.

She has also written for Billboard, Alloy Media’s The Grindstone and Blisstree, xoJane, 20-Something Magazine, Pace Magazine, WhoSay, The Huffington Post, The Westfield Leader and Luna Luna Mag, where she is the founding-editor.
