Lisa Britt
I am an African American woman living with HIV in Atlanta, GA. Of the more than one million people in the U.S. living with the disease. I serve as an advocate for HIV prevention. I help raise awareness, help motivate individuals to help end stigma, help encourage HIV Risk reduction, help educate general population and help distribution of condoms. Almost half of the people diagnosed with HIV are disproportionately African American with women comprising the highest risk. Understanding this, I have transformed my situation in order to be a voice for change. I share my testimony of survival, perseverance, and motherhood in order to motivate individuals and transform lives in the black community. This message of transformation was engendered by the effect of the HIV diagnosis in my own life.
