I'm married to a wonderful man and we share six children and five grandchildren. I have an incredible job, too. It's exciting, challenging and fulfilling. Things could not be better! Life is good. I was born in rural St. James Parish and I'm a true farm girl at heart. I've loved horses as long as I can remember, getting my first horse from my parents when I was nine. I spent all of my time riding around the country side. I lost my mom years ago, but she will always be a major influence in my life. She was a tremendous woman and an absolute lady. I couldn't have asked for a better role model. My dad is doing great and it's hard to believe he's 92 years old. He's in wonderful health. I have a very close, loving family that I truly cherish. John was born in rural Franklin Parish in North Louisiana, also on a farm. His parents were entertainers, his mother a pianist for WSM (Grand Ole Opry station) in Tennessee and his dad a singer from north Louisiana. They met in the studio when his dad was in town for a show and his dad told his friends, "See that girl, I'm going to marry her!" He did and John is the younger of their two children. He was raised hunting, fishing and trapping and shooting guns. He's a fantastic skeet shooter, too! Some of the 500 acre farm is in woodlands, but the bulk of it is in cropland. About 20 minutes from the farm is John's camp on the Tensas River. It's true wilderness with barely a person to be seen. It's hunter and fisherman paradise! In fact, I killed my first deer there in 2007. (I'm a meat hunter only.) John and I both grew up on horseback, but we don't ride anymore. We have the kids retired show horses as pasture ornaments and enjoy them enjoying their retirement. John and two of the boys are pilots, and I can fly, too, but we haven't been flying as of late. John and I have been enjoying a lot of hunting. I'm a health nut and I prefer to eat clean meat. Between the two of us we have six wonderful children and five grandchildren. John's daughter has her master's degree, is married and the mother of a daughter and a son. Johns sons are triplets. John, Jr., who has a degree in construction management, and his wife Laura have a son born in September of 2009. Mike, who has his doctorate in Optometry, and his wife Kari had a son in the fall of 2010. Bob, who will soon have his doctorate in medicine is married to Jen, who is a veterinarian. Adam, who recently earned his degree in Business, and his wife, Sarah, have a daughter, born in October 2009. Meanwhile, Ross has recently re-enter college and has thrilled us with that decision. We're very proud of all our children. They're all good, respectful, well adjusted, well centered individuals. What more could a parent ask for? I work in the film industry as a location scout and location manager, local to both New Orleans, where I was born, and Baton Rouge, where we have a home. You can copy and paste the following URL if you'd like to know more about what I do as a location manager: http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-a-location-manager.htm. It's a very challenging job, but I love meeting those high expectations.
