Operating her own private psychology practice in Scottsdale, Arizona, Lisa Galper has partnered with healthcare practitioners and organizations across the United States to present workshops to help people overcome emotional eating. She also assesses and treats patients for a broad spectrum of psychological conditions, from mood disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder to relationship issues and general depression and anxiety. Lisa Galper’s therapeutic modalities include motivational interviewing, mindfulness methods, dialectical behavior therapy, prolonged exposure therapy, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR).

Lisa Galper is the co-author of the 2005 book Am I Hungry?: What to Do When Diets Don’t Work. She also co-presented the paper Family Violence Training Model: Mental Health Issues at the 1992 World Conference of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Dr. Galper has served as a consultant and performed community outreach with organizations that range from the Community Workshop for Battered Women in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to the Changing Weights Program in Phoenix, Arizona. She has also shared her clinical expertise through Phoenix’s KTVK Channel 3 TV.
