Lisa Gorton

Lisa Gorton is a writer. She studied literature at Melbourne University and the University of Oxford, where she wrote a doctorate on John Donne's poetry and prose. Her first poetry collection, Press Release, won the Victorian Premier's Prize for Poetry. It was also shortlisted for the Melbourne Prize Best Writing Award and the Mary Gilmore Poetry Prize. She has also received the Vincent Buckley Poetry Prize, and the John Donne Society Award for Distinguished Publication in Donne Studies. Her second collection, Hotel Hyperion, is due out with Giramondo in 2013.
