Award-winning journalist Lisa Alcalay Klug has reported for a wide variety of leading media outlets including the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Jerusalem Post, Forward, Shape, Self, Forbes, Jewish Telegraphic Agency, Associated Press and IBA/Israel's English TV news. She is a stringer for the New York Times Business desk. She also covers arts and culture, health and travel and has contributed to five Fodor's travel guides, including two editions of Healthy Escapes, and has published hundreds of articles about international destinations around the world.

Hot Mamalah: The Ultimate Guide for Every Woman of the Tribe (Oct. '12), is Lisa's second book. Her first, Cool Jew: The Ultimate Guide for Every Member of the Tribe, (Sept. '08), was a No. 1 Amazon bestseller and National Jewish Book Awards Finalist. The daughter of an Ashkenazi Holocaust survivor and the descendant of Jews who fled the Spanish Inquisition, Lisa's books express her exuberance, joie de vivre and passion for Jewish culture.

Lisa offers her expertise as a writing coach and editor and a mentor for clients interested in publishing, marketing and publicity. Her client roster includes Berkeley Engineering and Research, Ulysses Press and slap company.

A popular public speaker, humorist and slam poet, Lisa has also presented at more than 100 venues throughout North America, Europe, and Israel.

Lisa is an honors graduate of UC Berkeley with a bachelors in Middle Eastern Studies (Phi Beta Kappa) and a masters of journalism. She has completed extensive graduate work at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
