Lisa Diaz is a public relations graduate student diligently pursing her true passion to serve her community. Lisa ultimately plans to own a social venture business that is designed to provide aid to underprivileged cities. Her service ideas include: implementing neighborhood cleanup programs, organizing food drives, implementing sustainability programs, providing elderly assistance, building homeless shelters, etc. With a bachelor’s degree in communication studies, Lisa understands the value of interpersonal communication, public speaking and persuasion. She also has experience in administrative and sales positions that provided hands on experience in all forms of Microsoft office, customer service, crisis management, leadership, and working with a team. As a result, Lisa communicates cheerfully, eloquently and confidently. Lisa is a member of the communication honor society Lambda Pi Eta, she has competed in forensics, and she has efficiently orchestrated new student orientation for an incoming class of 1500+ students. Recently, Lisa graduated Summa Cum Laude from Vanguard University in addition to receiving the Communication Department’s “Outstanding Communication Major” award and “Best Media Criticism (Senior Thesis) Paper.” Her sixty-six page senior thesis applied a communication methodology to the popular video game, Grand Theft Auto V. When she is not at work, doing homework, or trying to save the world, Lisa may also be found baking, playing video games, swimming or watching movies with her family.
