Who am I?

I am a person who loves family and friends - human and "fuzzy." I enjoy being active and outdoors. In fact, I believe we need to be "a part of" nature rather than "apart from" it as this keeps us grounded and gives us broader perspective.

I am driven by challenge, excited about discovery and do well in an innovative environment. I am always considering ways to improve, particularly where process and technology are concerned. While I have very few "sacred cows," I do place great value on self discipline, personal responsibility and a few other key factors.

I believe that one of the greatest gifts that a manager can give his or her staff is AUTONOMY, second only to trust. In an autonomous environment, people feel free to create and self-actualize. Employees can excel when given goals and the power to meet them by utilizing their ingenuity and unique skills. I strive to be the kind of leader that I would want for myself.

I believe that INTELLECTUAL CURIOUSITY invites and drives positive innovation. It spurs a person to pursue various interests and continuously work toward improvement. Asking fundamental questions like "Why?" and "How?" leads to discovery. Asking "Can we do this better?" leads to innovation.

I believe HONESTY is a foundational trait. If we are not honest, we cannot earn trust. If we do not earn trust, we cannot expect to be granted liberty of inquiry and pursuit. Finally, let's not forget, we must be honest even with ourselves.

I believe that we need each other. I enjoy making beneficial connections between people. We gain strength through UNITY and cooperation whereas we are weak when division and strife exist. We must cultivate HUMILITY and understanding to enable us to work together effectively.

I believe that we can't take ourselves or others too seriously. HUMOR is as much a necessity as air for our health. I love to laugh. Better yet, I love to make others laugh.

I believe that TENACITY is crucial to success. Have you ever wondered how many people have given up on the cusp of a breakthrough?

I believe in BALANCE and WHOLENESS. We each have a role in a brilliant eternal design. Life is too short and precious to waste. Work is an integral part of who we are but we shouldn't lose ourselves and others in it. That whole person needs to show up to work and be available at home.
