I teach public relations at LSU's Manship School of Mass Communication, serve as Rector for our Residential College and hold the George Nelson Professorship. I served the Manship School as Associate Dean for Sponsored Research & Programs from July 2010 through June 2012. My research focuses on how women process health communication messages and the influence of women bloggers. I was an SEC Academic Leadership Fellow in 2011-2012, participating in a year-long professional development program that seeks to identify, prepare and advance academic leaders for roles within SEC institutions and beyond. I earned my Ph.D. in 2004 from the University of Florida. I enjoy spending time with my husband, Fred Lundy, and my two children.
