Lisa has an extensive educational background having worked as a school principal, federal project director and teacher. She holds a BA in Child Development and an M.Ed in Educational Administration. Lisa has been active in her community and served as the VP of her towns Literacy Non-Profit for 6 years.

Lisa is an educational & social media consultant and owner of Lisa Dabbs Consulting. She's an Award Winning blogger, author, podcaster, and speaker. Lisa is an internationally recognized education leader in the field of New Teacher development and is the founder of New Teacher Chat #ntchat on Twitter. The weekly chat launched in 2010 and after a 7 year anniversary was retired on Twitter in 2018.

Lisa's work is varied and spirited! She has written for a number of publications including, Huffington Post, Education Week, Smart Brief Education and Edutopia.org. She also served on Edutopia's Social Media Team, as Director of Business Development at Ed Tech Teacher and as CA Community Manager at Remind.com. Lisa enjoys connecting with companies who support educators and has been a View Sonic Education Team blogger/presenter and an Amazon & Adobe Education Thought Leader. She has also worked as Adjunct Professor at the University of La Verne working with pre-service teachers in the Child Development division.

Lisa is an elected official and serves on her local School Board recently as President. She began serving as a Trustee in 2018 and was re-elected in 2022. She hopes to "redefine" what it means to be a school board member in her community.

Lisa is a published author with Corwin Publishing. Her book "Standing in the Gap: Empowering New Teachers Through Connected Resources" is part of the Connected Educator Series. Her leadership in new teacher support inspired the book and a future book is in the works.
