Lisa Zheng

I am a student currently living in Queens. I love table tennis, movies, and traveling. I came to the U.S. at 4 years old and school was a struggle as I didn’t have any foundation in English and wasn’t interested in learning. Grades were horrible because I was too lazy to do any of the work. Going into middle school, I was more serious about my academics, probably because reality was kind of hitting in already. High school was a dramatic change, as I was given the opportunity to explore things other than academics. I found my favorite sport and made a very diverse group of friends. Compared to the past, I have a new perspective, as I found new activities, not just revolving around grades. In the future, I want to become a pharmacist and I hope I can persevere even if it is a long way to go.
