To do: start a blog
I'm Karen. I've been living in south west London for more than three years now. I probably won't be living here forever and I want to feel I've made the most if it, so I've vowed to attempt to do at least one 'cultural' thing per month, although some have been more truely cultural than others, hence the quotation marks!
So, how did this blog come about? Well...I love a good to-do list. They help me to organise my very busy London lifestyle when I'm often out of the house for fourteen or more hours a day. But, like many people I often find I'm adding more items to the bottom in a typical week than I am ticking items off the top, leaving me feeling like I'm constantly playing catch-up in my own life. But then, an early cultural activity led me to take a class at the School of Life, which introduced me to the concept of a 'done' list. We make endless to-dos but do we ever stop to stand back and take stock of what we've achieved, the things that we have crossed off the list and what we've actually done? Applying this idea to my cultural adventures, I looked back through my diary for last year and realised that I'd actually done quite a lot and that it would be great to have a record of it.
So here is my done list for London.
Welcome to the Lon-done list.
