A former 5th grade teacher in the Chicago area and a native of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Cathleen relocated to Jacksonville, FL from Santa Barbara, CA in 2003. She holds an M. Ed. in Language Arts from Northeastern Illinois University and a B.A. in Communications from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN.

An active community volunteer who supports and works with many local nonprofits and organizations, Cathleen has also worked as a communications director and social media consultant for a number of local political campaigns. She currently serves as a volunteer child advocate for Florida's Fourth Circuit through the Guardian ad Litem program and is a member of the Scenic Jacksonville Advisory Committee, The Bolles School Parent Association Executive Council, and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Previously, Cathleen has served on the WJCT Board of Trustees; Scenic Jacksonville, Inc. Board of Directors; Riverside Avondale Preservation Board of Directors; Women’s Giving Alliance Steering Committee; and the Save Jax Libraries Advisory Committee.

In 2006, Cathleen founded Litter Free Planet, an international awareness campaign to promote the responsible disposal and cleanup of litter. Through grassroots efforts and the use of social media, Cathleen encourages others to help keep the planet clean, green and #litterfree!

When she’s not volunteering, walking the family’s rescue dogs, fostering animals or picking up litter, Cathleen enjoys running in the neighborhood and cheering for her children at one of their many sporting events. Cathleen and her husband, Dan, have two children.
