Tsumami Zaiku, 伝統工芸つまみ細工, and kanzashi flower in Tokyo, Japan
"Tsumami (Kanzashi)" is the Japanese traditional art work developed during the Edo period.
Tsumami kanzashi has been officially designated as a traditional Japanese handcraft in the Tokyo region since 1982.
In the English-speaking world, the term "kanzashi" is sometimes applied to the folded cloth flowers that traditionally adornedtsumami kanzashior to the technique used to make those flowers.
These flowers are carefully and gently hand-shaped by folding small pieces of squared fabric into petals.
The artist Fucco Sim (fuccosim) started her Tsumami artisan in 2002. Since her humble start of this traditional art work, her pieces are loved and gaining continuous supports by many. All Little Tsumami products are designed and gently hand made with love and passion.
