Liv Miller RN, LMT

North Oakland

A San Francisco native, Liv Miller has been practicing massage therapy since 2005 after completing an 801-hour massage therapy program at East West College of Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon.

She worked for, and in collaboration with, a chiropractor for 4.5 years, focusing on auto injury and repetitive strain. During this time, she also became a certified Kundalini Yoga instructor (200 hours), as taught by Yogi Bhajan.

Before moving back to the Bay Area in 2008, she studied partner acrobatics under Austrian National gymnast, body worker, and coach Stefan Furst (from 2008-2010). Together they would train and work on injured athletes.

Liv has been an avid cyclist since 2009 (inspired by completing the AIDS Life Cycle from SF to LA), and in 2013 became a sponsored off road bicycle racer in the sport called: cyclocross. Being an athlete has inspired her to work with a personal trainer, and to deepen her understanding of kinesiology in her bodywork.

Techniques that Liv primarily uses are: deep tissue, myo-facial release, active release techniques, and trigger point therapy. She is also currently studying Neuro Kinetic Therapy (NKT) under David Weinstock.

Liv is also a registered nurse with a bachelor degree in the science of nursing. With this degree she hopes to promote health education and be a part of holistic and collaborative community clinics both locally and abroad.

With one foot in Eastern modalities and one in Western bio medicine, her philosophy on heath is holistic and grounded in research as well as a meditative practice.
Her style is technical and intuitive as well as relaxing and therapeutic. Every session is individualized, and she enjoys working consistently with clients so that they can work together towards common goals.
