Liviu-Adrian SANDU

Galati, Romania

Born in 1968 in Galati, Romania, I graduated in 1997 from the “George Enescu” Academy of Arts, at the section of sculpture. The next year I taught drawing at the Art School in my hometown and in the same time in that year I worked as an associate professor for the Sacred Art specialization at “Al. I. Cuza” University from Iasi where I spent four years teaching Artistc Anatomy and Drawing.
In 2000 I started to freelancing for various American and European companies where I did graphic design, 3D modeling and animation. Here I improved my computer skills and expanded my artistic vision into the digital world. My final goal was to learn as much as possible about three dimensional modeling, to edit virtual spatial forms and human bodies, which in the end helped me to become a better sculptor.
My career took a new direction in 2005 when I started working for the Museum of Visual Art in my hometown. Here I have the time and space to dedicate to new projects. During another four years, between 2005 and 2009, I worked as an associate professor at the High School of Art “Dimitrie Cuclin” and two years (2009-2011) being associate professor at the Faculty of Arts from The “Lower Danube” University. At both institutes I taught sculpture, perspective and image editing at different levels.

In 2011 I earned my PhD in Visual Arts with a concentration in Sculpture. My thesis was "Morphology of Emotions in Figurative Sculpture"
