I was born in Knowsley, Merseyside and went to school in Liverpool. I read Classics at Corpus Christi College, Oxford before completing a Masters in Ancient History at Balliol College.

I currently work as Digital Heritage and Operations Manager in Special Collections and Archives at the University of Liverpool.

Prior to this I led the setup of digital scholarship projects at the Bodleian Libraries, Oxford, and the University of Reading.

My main hobbies are film photography and languages.
