Liz Adamson
Vancouver, BC, Canada
Though Liz has a passion for classical literature, her life reads more like a travel blog. Born and raised in North Delta, while studying English Literature and French at the University of British Columbia, Liz found herself on exchange in Paris. She took every opportunity with school and outside of class to explore the continent and the travel bug bit her hard.
After returning home and completing her degree, Liz worked full time at Coast Capital Savings to bide her time before setting off to Beijing where she continued her passion for literature by teaching at a BC offshore high school. When she wasn’t teaching English, Liz spent a year and a half exploring all that Asian culture had to offer: cuisine, outdoors, language, yoga and the people. After the money ran out, Liz decided to make her way down under to pursue some new professional endeavors.
Settling in Melbourne, she became a Typesetter and TV Listings Producer. In this role, she gained valuable experience using Photoshop and InDesign. However, the largest gain was a newfound passion for writing, editing and proofreading; she was offered the chance to write DVD reviews for multiple newspaper publications across Australia. With a bag full of new skills, Liz decided to return home to study Digital Communications at Simon Fraser University so that she could facilitate story telling and write on new and exciting platforms. Liz hopes to amalgamate her appreciation for culture and travel with her passion for story telling while connecting people online and off.
In the new year, Liz is starting Chinese lessons again to build on the knowledge she gained while teaching in China. Her Chinese name is Li Bei Bei 李贝贝 and means friendly and feminine. Another 30 day Bikram yoga challenge is on also (always) on the horizon - lock the knee!
