Liz Lander
Art Director and Educator in Singapore
Liz’s career began with a decade of freelance practice in London as a Designer and Art Director in film and broadcast TV genres spanning drama, comedy and entertainment. Her recreations of the Oval Office at the White House, an imaginary kitchen on the Death Star, and work on diverse contemporary dramas contributed to two Emmy award winning TV series.
An invitation to devise and deliver the Film Art Direction Module for NYU Tisch Asia's MFA students in Singapore gave Liz the opportunity to share her industry expertise with a new generation of international film-makers. She subsequently joined the Puttnam School of Film and Animation, at Lasalle College of the Arts, executing Action Research on reflective practice in 21st century arts learning.
Liz is currently exploring the visual storytelling potential of Unreal Engine, blending CGI with real-world settings, and the skills this will demand from emerging film-makers whose careers are just beginning.
