September 2015: I decided to retire as a Speech and Language Therapist and "de-register" with the HCPC. I have kept up my membership of the BVA and am a Retired Member of RCSLT as I still have a hankering to do some more work with voice - but from now on not as an SLT.
In 2007 I discovered that there was this marvellous thing called the ukulele - and I just love it!
I did my level best for over 30 years to provide and run excellent NHS services for people with communication disabilities, primarily using Augmentative and Alternative Communication. That is how I came to be a bit of a techie-geek.
Throughout that time I was also a committed Trade Union activist at local, regional and national level. Obviously, I am a feminist.
Song writing is not something that I ever imagined myself doing. I am not exactly prolific but I am pleased with what has tumbled out so far. The subjects are all close to my heart, even when dealt with in a light rather than a serious way.
