How did I choose to be an art major? I always loved drawing and doodling, however; I didn't always know I wanted to go into art. When I began 10th grade, every teacher told me that I need to know what I want to do with my life. I DIDN'T KNOW! I took a class involving the medical field because I loved helping people and the community. After a semester from hell, I knew the medical field was not for me... but then I had art. I got to know both art teachers extremely well, and they helped me improve my skills. I began getting involved with the art club and by senior year I was the president.

My envolvment grew and so did my love for the subject. I have experimented with clay, paint, photograpy, printmaking, dyes, etc. and continue to everyday. The goal I have for myself is not to be a world renowned artist. My goal is to use my skills and creativity to create things for the rest of the world to see.

Through this process, I discovered that I don't have to just have a job to help people. I can volunteer and join services in my free time.

A collaboration of all these things = my pursuit to happiness.
