I just graduated from Creighton University School of Law. I am studying for the bar exam. I am currently a member of the Creighton University School of Law Young Alumni Council, and I aid the Creighton University School of Law Mentor Program. I work at a boutique Omaha firm, Oestmann and Albertsen Law, which specializes in family, juvenile, and criminal law.

While at Creighton University I was a member of the Creighton International and Comparative Law Journal. My note was published in the Spring 2015 edition of the journal. My note is entitled A Call for a More Permanent International Definition of Rape. The note discusses how there is no true definition of rape in international law, and what a potential definition could look like.

Also while attending Creighton, I was on the executive boards of various student organizations: Phi Alpha Delta, Law Ambassadors, Public Interest Law Forum and Women Law Student Association. I was also a member of the American Inns of Court Omaha Chapter. While at Creighton I had the opportunity to help start up a successful mentoring program. The mentor program started in January 2014. This year I will be serving the program as the alumni liaison. Creighton offers two legal clinics, and I was one of eight students in my class to participate in the Creighton University Economic Development Clinic where we focus on helping create small businesses. Creighton also offers many externships, and I was able to extern with Judge Bataillon in the Douglas County District Court.

Before law school, I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Creighton University Heider College of Business. While there I found my passion for service through Alpha Phi Omega. I was also able to work in Human Resources at Warren Distribution, there is a lot more to HR than meets the eye. I also interned for a non-profit the LiveWise Coalition where I worked on a grant funded project to gather and use information regarding teen drug and alcohol use.

I am a Nebraska native, and you can see that through my hard work ethic. I have been working since I was a junior in high school when I got my first service job at the local McDonald's. Following that I eventually worked at JCPenney, and Upstream Brewing Company. Outside of my work I enjoy relaxing at home reading a good book or watching TV. I haven't had much time lately to read a book but I plan on starting that up the day after the bar exam!
