L Rieke

College Student Advisor, Restaurant Manager, and Caterer in Olympia, Washington

I am a professional cook who also works wood and metal, gardens, organizes, dances, writes, makes medicine, travels, falls in love all the time, and generally tries to keep it real.

My interests include traditional nutrition, fermentation, food justice, cooperatives and other alternatives to capitalism, learning Spanish, children and babies, dance, anti-oppression work of many varieties, queerness and gender liberation, farming, magic, knives, tools, traditional craft, racial justice and indigenous liberation, conflict resolution work, music, drawing, building things, wild plants, trees, permaculture, herbal medicine, healing trauma, community development, reading books, dogs, goats, and other critters such as frogs, bees, elves, aliens and dragons.

Things I hope to become include: a hunter, a butcher, a great dancer, an active musician, an abortion doula, a storyteller, a good farmer, a blacksmith, an herbalist, a healer, a nutritionist, a beekeeper, a community mediator, a witch, a priestess, a craftsperson, a cooperative development worker, a greasy sassy tough long-haired old lady with a cauldron and bubbly jars of weird ferments on the shelves and lots of tattoos and a coal forge in my backyard where I make axes.

I hope to use everything I am and will be to create more justice and nourishment in the world.
