LJ HEISS

Salutations to my fellow earthlinks around the world. I go by the name of LJ Heiss aka "The Fly Renagade" and "Thee Unfam!L!ar"one. I hail from somewhere in outerspace and somehow landed here on earth. J/K. I was born in New York City, but spent most of my 26 year old life in San Diego,California and Adelphi,Maryland( a suburban town right outside of Washington D.C.) I began making music at the age of 16. I think the fact that I was writing poetry at an early age made the transition from poetic verses to rapping very easy, yet and still I had to work hard to develop a fomidable rap skill. I started building a reputation as an MC when i was battling other rappers in high school and talent shows around the area. Soon after that I was recording music with some neighborhood buddies who also were rappers, including my best friend who is no longer with us (R.I.P.) Philip "eLiGuL" Ivantsov. We were becoming a household name at most open mics and shows in the city and gaining recognition for our work. I dropped a few mixtapes in the process but none better than my last intallment called the "Unfam!L!ar" mixtape(2012). It was the beginning of a sound and style for me, one in which I am very comfortable with. Bottomline, I am here to promote my music and my vision with the rest of the world.It's hard to define my rap style because I come at you from all angles. From speaking about personal struggles, my trials and tribulations, my unorthodox childhood and relationships to political issues, psychiatric disorders(shock value)and just plain out having fun with punchlines and metaphors. Some may call my sound "unique, weird, compelling, explicit, confusing,etc."... I accept it all. LOL. My sound is "ME". Pretty much.
