Leslie Joy Kurtenbach Mills

I was born in Herington, KS, grew up in Shawnee Mission, KS. Graduated from Shawnee Mission North and the University of Kansas in Journalism and a minor in English. Was married to college love, Larry Mills, in San Rafael, CA. Moved to San Diego, met an architect, fell in love, and was divorced after 6 years. Returned to the San Francisco Bay Area. Started working for architects and engineers and ended up being a patent and trademark paralegal for over 20 years. Owned houses in Marin County and had the perfect life which I gave up to to return to Kanasas City to take care of my aging parents. Returned to California about 3 times later to the architect, but the damage was done. Lived in Oshkosh, WI, in a huge gorgeous Victorian which I restored myself. Returned to Kansas City after the death of my mother in 2006 and then back to California. Lived in Bodega Bay and became a CNA for the last year I was in California. Returned again to Oshkosh with ex-husband after he contacted me two years ago. In 1988 went to Europe for the first time. Traveled abroad 10 different times, either with the architect or girlfriends. Spent about 3 months in Egypt and also in London. Since then I have been to 23 countries, and 4 continents. Travel is my passion, but I also love opera and most music, ballet and ballroom dancing, theatre, movies, museums, symphony, antiques, old houses, photography, history, reading, art, etc. Have currently taken up photographing old abandonded farms, barns, deserted houses, scenery here in the Midwest.
