Logan Wallace
Syracuse, New York
My name is Logan Wallace and I am 23-year-old from Berkeley, California and am currently senior at Syracuse University studying Sport Management in the David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics. My path to my current place in life has been far from conventional, which has been both beneficial and disadvantageous at times. Nonetheless, as it pertains to how I look at the unorthodox trajectory of my life as a student, young professional and individual at large, my past serves as my motivation to keep going. Furthermore, despite the odds I have faced, through hard work, dedication, perseverance and the unrivaled benevolence and selflessness of the good people I have been fortunate to have in my life, I have been able to overcome all obstacles and achieve more than I ever thought I would have been able to.
However, although extremely appreciative and pleased with how far I have come, I cannot contently settle where I am; for, my hunger for experience and knowledge forbids it and fuels my continuing efforts. I am the individual who volunteers to do more in group assignments, who takes on extra work as an intern, who comes in early and stays late to get hands on experience in new crafts and takes work home to hone those existing crafts. Moreover, my voluntarily increased workload speaks to my dedication to being a sponge for knowledge, my hunger to learn the industry and the strength of my marriage to the grind that allows me to continuously cater to this overarching appetite for experience.
Famous Civil War General Joshua Chamberlain once said, “What I do not know, I know how to learn.” The scenario is no different for me. I have some experience in the field which will suffice in terms of foundation, yet where there is a void I will make up for it with my hunger to learn the industry and dedication to honing my craft. Regardless of what opportunity I get and its prestige, I will utilize my skills to the best of my ability in an effort to execute my tasks at hand and reach goals set by my advisers as well as myself. I am ready to succeed; all I need is the opportunity.
