LLUNA
MONTREAL CANADA
Fashioned early in life by all styles of black rooted music, Lluna brings in her musical suitcase an earthy, evocative voice filled with colour, shape, and sensual intelligence.
Like many before her, Lluna's past musical experience includes performing in nightclubs, churches and society events. She began singing in her hometown church at the age of five and was immediately recognized for having a particular spirit and a gifted voice. By the time she was in High School she was already an avid Jazz Aficionado with a deep admiration for the work of Billie Holiday.
She knew then, as she does now, that the Jazz life would always be her life.
It was not long after moving to Montreal at seventeen that she fell in love with Latin Jazz, dancing to it's rhythym in the streets of the Jazz Fest, the dancefloors on Montreal's nightilife venues and bossa nova-ing her way into the hearts of handsome Latinos.
Her great musical influences also include Sade, Diana Krall, Ella Fitzgerald, Astrid Gilberto, Rosemary Clooney, Nathalie Cole and Amy Winehouse, to name but a very few.
Lluna's ecclectic collection of melodic poetry includes renditions of songs in English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
