University: I'm a Counselling student (Person-Centred mostly). I've had decades of mis- and un-diagnosed mental health experiences with many different professionals hindering and occasionally helping. I firmly believe that individuals must be listened to and involved in their own treatment at all levels. Many people have experienced bad practice by professionals employed to help them. This is wrong, and dangerous. It should not be happening. I'm interested in everybody's experiences to develop my knowledge and understanding. I'm also a course rep for Level 4, and attend student-staff committee meetings in the department - School of Health and Society. If you have questions or feedback, drop me a line and I'll pass it on or signpost you to someone who can help you with a specific issue.

Music: I love all kinds - I've sung in a reggae band, a folk choir, write my own songs (that I'm not brave enough to perform) and now I'm in Shir Chadash. We do relaxed, fun, rocky musical prayer services. If you'd like to come to one, contact us through the Facebook page at www.facebook.com/shirchadashmanchester.

Judaism: It's been a long journey and it's not over. I was "assigned ultra-orthodox" at birth. It was a disaster and I've spent a long time working on finding out what I want from my Judaism and how to go about it. When I can, I'm involved in Manchester Liberal Jewish Community. It's very small and when there aren't services I do explore other progressive synagogues. MLJC focuses on inclusion. We're proud that disabled, LGBT people and a healthy range of Jews and Jewish-adjacent people call us home. Lovely and inspiring Student Rabbi Lev Taylor comes up once a month to lead services, teach and support us. The facebook group is at www.facebook.com/groups/1522520217769038

I have ADHD, Autism, Fibromyalgia, hEDS and Sleep Apnoea among others. I am bisexual, non-binary and non-monogamous. It's really important to be able to talk about all of these things. Do feel free to talk with me about anything without fear of taboo. Allow me to listen, and I will tell you if you say something that is problematic for me. Conversations especially welcome when accompanied by good dairy free cake.
