Leigh Murrell has her Masters in Educational Technology from San Diego State University. She has been an educational technology staff developer for over 9 years. She is currently working internationally. She is an Instructional Coach at Academia Cotopaxi in Quito, Ecuador. Before this she worked for two years as the Manager of IT Integration at the International School Port of Spain.

Prior to this, she worked as an Instructional Technology Specialist at the San Diego County Office of Education. Leigh supported the 42 school districts in San Diego County with technology integration, taught online classes, and directed the County wide K-12 student film festival iVIE.

Leigh began her educational career as a Spanish Language teacher in San Diego Unified School District, a large urban district with over 200 schools. She taught levels 1-A.P. In 2009 Leigh transitioned out of the classroom to the district office as an Educational Technology Teacher. Leigh directly supported 30 schools and developed professional development to support project based learning and integrating iPads as a learning tool into multi-curricular areas in grades 3-12.

Leigh is a San Diego native who has presented at local, state and national conferences including ISTE. Leigh lived and studied in Spain and Paraguay. It is her dream to live abroad again one day soon.
