A passionate student affairs educator from Madrid, IA, USA. In his role as the Senior Director of Housing & Auxiliary Services, Lucas D. Novotny serves as a member of the Divisional Senior Leadership Team. Lucas's primary responsibilities include coordination, direction and oversight of student housing and dining operations, student life facility operations, conference and meeting services, summer camps/conferences, and leading technology and marketing efforts for the Division of Student Life. Lucas is responsible for long-range planning for housing and dining operations, student life facility renovations and expansions, and stewardship of divisional resources. Additionally, Lucas provides leadership to the Creighton Health Sciences Auxiliary Services in Phoenix, AZ and oversight of the 157-acre Creighton University Retreat Center.

His educational interests include student involvement/engagement, Men's identity development and technology integration. Lucas has been involved in many facets of student life at Creighton. Some notable involvements include: a facilitator of Creighton's Men's Leadership program (EQV), the co-founder of Creighton's Social Media Brand--BluejayLife and creator Creighton's Division of Student Life's internal student marketing agency--the Creative Suite.

Lucas was born and raised in Central Iowa, Lucas studied Business Administration at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA. He continued his education at Iowa State University where he graduated in 2010 with his M.Ed. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and graduated from Creighton University in 2013 with his MBA
