"You are here to make a difference!!" rings as many bells as you can imagine from the moment I wake up to the moment I "disappear"! Yes, at Cairo University, my job as a Porfoessor of English & Comparative Lit is meant to change lives, and sometimes to make and remake lives; am aware of it, and always working on it. At the Quality Assurance Unit in my faculty, I seek to touch my colleagues with the happiness of "doing" and "achieving' for the sake of others. Always work your imagination on behalf of that Other. Inside that frame that we call "body", an "I" exists: it needs to channel the energy that has been saved into its genetic map when its DNA laddered itself into life. YES. Life calls, and you answer, and call others too. It is so good to be a teacher. Better, to KNOW that it is so good to be one. Teacher + human = what a wonderful world!
